On the surface, Salma Hayek and her hubby, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault seem to be living the perfect life. The wife is among the prettiest women in the world, and the husband among the richest men. That, in itself, is enough to make this picture a perfect one.
However, there is a lot more to it than just that. They seem to be deeply in love with each other, and are blessed with an absolutely adorable daughter, Valentina, who’s just turned three. That’s not the only ‘valentine’ element in their life, considering that they tied the knot on Valentine’s Day, in the most romantic city on earth- Paris!
But anyone who keeps up with the gossip from tinsel town would know that it’s not such a flawless picture after all. However hard the couple might be trying to portray themselves as a happy family, there is a deep crack running under the surface.
Pinault left the world shell-shocked when he admitted to having had an illicit relationship with super model Linda Evangelista. The relationship might have remained under wraps, had it not been for the lovechild that was born to Evangelista.
Their son, named Augustin James, was born in August, 2006. The scandalous affair recently made headlines when Evangelista filed a case against Pinault in a New York court, seeking a monthly remuneration of $46,000 in the form of child support for their son.
She justified her claim by saying that Pinault did not treat Augustin as his son, while he kept showering his daughter with Salma, Valentina, with lavish gifts. She further stated that they were unable to reach a point of agreement in their discussions outside court, due to which she was forced to seek legal intervention.
This unwanted publicity forced Pinault to speak up about his son with Evangelista for the first time ever. Without mincing his words, he clearly stated that he has considered Augustin as his son since the year 2007, and has been dutifully fulfilling his responsibilities as a father. He further stated that he considers Augustin to be Valentina’s brother.
